Tiny eggs can be seen scattered beneath the fish. This is a decent aquarium fish, as long as the tank does not contain smaller fish. One site sells them for $12 each in lots of one to six. Or, you could go down to the S. Platte or a nearby pond and fish for them. Seining panfish in Colorado is also legal. Twenty a day, forty in total.
