All the time I’ve been here and this year (2021) is the first time I have seen this plant, a parasite.  It was as Prewitt Reservoir.   It has no roots of its own.  The opening seed stretches to a nearby plant and attaches itself to it and then pierces it to get sustenance.   In checking this plant out I found  crushed Dodder Seed for sale in a bottle.   It is supposed to help with male sexual problems.  (The seeds haven’t formed yet, so don’t look to me for conformation.)

The parasite around a sunflower.

These are very tiny flowers.  You would need a loop or magnifying glass to see them.
