Probably much of the greenery in rural ditches in the Spring and early Summer can be accounted for by the Curly Dock.
Usually allow one to grow in my backyard each year. Lovely green leaves and unusual blooms. (I do trim the tops when the brown seeds develop to avoid having many lovely plants the next Spring.)
