The king of our turtles, although it gets along with the others just fine.
When they first come out of hibernation in the Spring they seem to be in a torpor. I could have petted this one and did stand over it, estimating its carapace at twenty inches. Then I went home to read that in Colorado they only grow to fifteen inches. Someone is wrong.
