The Lewis and Clark Expedition of 1804+ was so pleased with these fellows that several were sent back East, alive. Unlike many rodents, they only have one litter a year.
The Prairie Dog is prey to many creatures. A Bald Eagle would take one if it wasn’t much work (preferring easier to catch carrion), but the Golden Eagle and Ferruginous Hawk are more effective predators of the rodents.
