Deer Mouse is a cover term for about fifty-six species in North America and six in Colorado. They are cute. I have known people who kept them as pets. My project was to live trap the rodents in this area, place them in an aquarium and photograph them. All I seemed to catch were Deer Mice, not the voles and shrews I also wanted, and after I read that one in five Deer Mice carry the deadly Hantavirus I decided to postpone the project.
