This is a gift to Colorado from the aquarium fish trade. First reported in the Pueblo Reservoir, it has spread. When I reported its presence in the Platte near Sterling to the appropriate state agency, I was informed that it was the first reported sighting in Logan County. They are very common, particularly in the gently flowing waters below the irrigation spillways that feed back into the river. They are small, an inch to an inch and a half wide.
