A very fortunate shot of a Peregrin Falcon. I saw him take the Northern Shoveler Duck out of the sky and the dead duck landed in the South Boat Ramp lot at North Sterling State Park. Didn’t like the setting (See the original picture below this one.) so I picked the duck up and placed it in a more photogenic spot. The bird wasn’t particularly upset and went right over to feed.
A young Prairie Falcon. Not easy to get close to this species. I wish I had more photos, but I don’t.
