It’s May in the neighborhood and these moms-to-be are awaiting birth. Most of them disappear with only a couple giving birth nearby. At this time the mothers will occasionally challenge walkers accompanied by dogs. One source stated that of those babies that die, fifty percent are killed by coyotes. Deer apparently can’t distinguish between canines.
