Once called the Harbinger of Spring, this species will live continuously in the North if it has water and a few dried berries.  The majority of them still migrate South, though one study shows that in the last forty years they are averaging wintering over two hundred miles farther north.  It could simply mean humans are planting more fruit trees and making open water available.Robin in Mulberry Tree at the River
